"The reason this review is easy, is because the DEEP=CORE works. Starting with the 5u4g rectifier tube, the faint hum was gone. It was replaced by an inky black background. Simple, easily, measurable, and effective. I assumed that replacing the 5u4g with the 5AR4 would likely reduce hum. Instead to my surprise I was greeted once again with an inky back background. No hum, no hiss, just silence. Of course listening to music sounded great, and I felt like bass was cleaner. Hi Walter,  For months I hesitated in adding a Deep Core to my 1800 Core unit, as I thought my PS AUDIO Duet coupled with the 1800 would be sufficient for cleaning the power.  Occasionally I would email Walter for his input, and he said it did other things that other conditioners do not. So I finally got one.
Well, it may be the BEST decision I've ever made in my years as an audiophile!!  The dynamics, noise floor, realism, and ease of effortless musical flow are unbelievable for an under 1K purchase!!!  It's like a new system, and sounds like one costing much more.  I am truly blown away at the upgrade!  The control on back of the unit to fine tune the sound is amazing unto itself!  These products truly deliver, and I am one happy listener right now!!  Can not recommend enough!  If you're on the fence, just do it!!  
Call me amazed at Core Power, and I've never been led down a wrong road yet in all my dealings with Walter either!!!

To clear up any confusion on the differences between Deep=Core and Equi=core:

Equi=Core is a balanced line conditioner. It removes up to 20dB of common mode noise from the line. With lower noise you can hear more low level resolution and inner detail. It also has surge suppression.

Deep=Core removes, EMI, RFI and most importantly DC from the line. DC is a major issue and almost all AC lines have some DC on them.  It also has even better surge suppression. There is also a Contour Control on Deep=Core to match the power coming from your wall to the power supplies in your equipment.
 
You plug Deep=Core into the wall and then Equi=Core (or any power conditioner) into Deep=Core. The pair makes a world class line Conditioner with surge protection.


The Deep Core 1800 is a multi-function power conditioner that re-defines the category. The Deep Core 1800 is designed to not only provide clean, spur free power but it also allows the user to optimize the power delivery interface via a user adjustment. Walter, I want to thank you for the advice on your Deep Core product line. 

I purchased the Deep Core and a Diamond AC cable and was astounded on how a very good system started knocking at the door of using the word "Magical" to describe the improvement your products brought to my audio system. The presentation is so stunning that you don't think about words to describe it, you sit and listen.  These products opens more of the heart and soul of the musicians and the music.

The Deep Core 1800 has the following major attributes;

  • An Input circuit that features a unique DC snubber which stops any DC, constant or transient, imposed upon the power lines from passing through the Deep Core and into the system. DC can saturate the transformers or source components and cause voltage fluctuations.
  • After the DC snubber the Deep Core has a complex common mode filter designed to suppress any RF signals that may be riding on the power lines. This RF energy can raise the noise floor and affect the total dynamic range of the system. The EMI filter is implemented with high quality magnetics that will not saturate under high current conditions.
  • After the common mode filter a second EMI/RFI filter is implemented that further cleanses the power of unwanted out of band products. This additional filter includes integrated surge suppression to insure that no high voltage transients, such as the voltage from a lightning strike, will pass through the system.
  • The last stage of the Deep Core contains the adjustable power delivery interface. This interface changes the relationship between neutral and ground and allows the user to optimize the power delivery to your system. This unique capability allows the power to be optimized for each individual system.

The Deep Core 1800 should be connected in front of your power conditioner as it is the “final” word in preparing your AC for a good power conditioner. Its unique ability to not only fully cleanse AC power sources of both DC, EMI and RFI noise, as well as to match your AC to your individual components, is unique among competing products.
